Summary
The Landline Company is revolutionizing air travel through multimodal connections between regional communities and major airline hubs. The Accountant / Senior Accountant will maintain accurate, timely, and audit-ready books by managing accounts payable, supporting month-end close and reconciliations, and assisting with treasury, payroll, audits, and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice review and coding, approvals, payment runs, and vendor inquiries
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules as part of the month-end close, consistently meeting close deadlines
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (Credit card, AP, prepaid, intercompany and more) and research and resolve variances
- Support payroll by reviewing and recording payroll journal entries, reconciling payroll accounts, and partnering with People Operations on payroll questions
- Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 collection and year-end 1099 reporting
- Support vendor management, vendor onboarding, and spend tracking
- Assist the Controller with audits, tax filings, and ad hoc analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve, document, and automate accounting processes and internal controls
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience for the Accountant level, or 4+ years for the Senior Accountant level
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, month-end close, and account reconciliations
- Experience payroll functions
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals
- Strong Excel skills and experience with an accounting system or ERP (such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage Intacct)
- Vendor management
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- CPA or progress toward a CPA
- Experience in transportation, aviation, or a multi-location business
