Job description

Summary

The Standard is an insurance company focused on financial stability, customer service, and innovative technologies that support customer needs. The Premium and Billing Specialist performs accounting functions for accurate financial reporting and premium disbursements, with responsibilities spanning insurance premium billing, payment processing, reconciliation, compliance documentation, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

  • Input and reconcile premium payments in ID3 system
  • Research and process accounting transactions and adjustments
  • Manage wire transfers, cash clearing, and inter-company payments
  • Communicate with policy owners, brokers, MGAs, and internal teams
  • Maintain billing documentation and support financial reporting compliance

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of medical or insurance billing
  • 2+ years customer service experience
  • Experience with general accounting principles and financial systems
  • Strong billing and reconciliation experience
  • Advanced spreadsheet and PC skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • All employees of The Standard must be bondable
  • Associate's degree with advanced coursework in accounting

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of medical or insurance billing
  • 2+ years customer service experience
  • Experience with general accounting principles and financial systems
  • Strong billing and reconciliation experience
  • Advanced spreadsheet and PC skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • All employees of The Standard must be bondable
