Job description

Summary

IMG is a global sports marketing agency specializing in sports media, brand partnerships, consulting, digital services, and event management. The Coordinator, Golf Events supports the planning, coordination, and execution of professional golf tournaments, including venue operations, sponsor activations, hospitality, vendor management, volunteer coordination, and event-day logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Support tournament planning, including timelines, budgets, operational plans, critical paths, and event calendars
  • Lead or support venue and tournament operations, including course setup, signage, credentialing, transportation, parking, and tournament-day logistics
  • Lead or support special events and projects throughout the year, including tournament-week pro-ams, receptions, dinners, media events, sponsor functions, and community initiatives
  • Lead or support the development and execution of sponsor activations and hospitality programs, working closely with the sales and hospitality teams to ensure successful delivery of title and secondary sponsor commitments
  • Lead or support food and beverage strategy and execution across tournament hospitality, pro-ams, special events, volunteer programs, and other tournament functions
  • Lead or support tournament gifting programs, including player, sponsor, pro-am, volunteer, VIP, and stakeholder gifting, from concept and sourcing through fulfillment and distribution
  • Recruit, schedule, train, and manage volunteers and temporary event staff
  • Develop event schedules, run-of-shows, briefing materials, signage plans, operational documents, and other event communications
  • Manage and coordinate vendors, deliveries, equipment, décor, catering, rentals, and other on-site service requirements
  • Support player, sponsor, VIP, and stakeholder experience initiatives, helping ensure a high level of service and attention to detail across tournament programs
  • Oversee event-day activities, troubleshoot operational issues, and escalate concerns as appropriate
  • Develop and manage the daily schedule and logistics for the Honorary Observer Program, including group assignments, participant communications, and uniform coordination
  • Coordinate with LPGA Tour childcare staff regarding location, operational requirements, and on-site execution
  • Lead or support post-event recaps, documenting key learnings, performance highlights, and recommendations for future tournaments
  • Support other tournament initiatives, special projects, and year-round event needs as assigned

Skills

  • Two or more years of experience in event management, hospitality, sports, tournaments, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and event-management tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during tournament periods
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Bachelor's degree in sports management, hospitality, event management, business, communications, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of golf tournament operations and professional sports events is preferred
