Summary
Tree Top is a company seeking a Raw Fruit Account Manager, FP & GS. The role procures fruit from growers and packers to support production needs and sourcing strategies, while coordinating supply, movement, and plant requirements with logistics and production planning. The position also builds supplier relationships, addresses issues proactively, and drives them through resolution.
Responsibilities
- The Raw Fruit Account Manager, FP&GS is responsible for procuring fruit from growers and packers to support Tree Top's production needs and sourcing strategies
- The position builds solid relationships with growers, packers, and suppliers while holding them responsible for commitments and expectations
- This role works closely with Logistics and Production Planning to coordinate fruit supply, movement, and plant needs
- The Raw Fruit Account Manager is expected to work independently, take initiative, identify and address issues proactively, and drive issues through resolution
Skills
- General understanding of the fruit industry, packhouse procedures, and fruit handling practices
- Principles and practices of inventory management
- Broad knowledge of the agricultural business and the cycles/seasons that affect the market
- Principles and practices of supply chain, related to perishable food items
- Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with growers and packers
- Take initiative and independently drive priorities through completion
- Hold suppliers responsible while maintaining productive business relationships
- Communicate effectively and directly in difficult or high-pressure situations
- Maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion
- Effectively resolve conflicts and negotiate
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Identify, research, and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions
- Effectively organize, plan, and execute
- Use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Meet behaviors established in Tree Top's performance culture and values
- Driver's license from state of residency is required
- Must meet Tree Top's driving insurance requirements
- A BA/BS degree in agriculture, horticulture, business or related field is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations, preferably in an agricultural, food manufacturing, or business environment
- Washington produce buyer's license is preferred
- For California, produce buyer's license is required
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SQF and GAP certification is preferred
