Summary
Wilshire Law Firm is a legal practice specializing in Personal Injury, Employee Rights, and Consumer Class Action lawsuits. The Paralegal will support attorneys in single-plaintiff employment litigation involving discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and harassment by managing discovery, filings, client communications, and case deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Propound and respond to discovery
- Prepare substantive responses for Plaintiff and review Defendant’s responses
- Prepare documents for filing with the state and federal court
- Draft correspondence and regularly communicate with clients, experts, and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner
- Ownership of calendaring and scheduling deadlines
- Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits
- Communicate effectively with Partners and Associates
Skills
- At least 2 years of Paralegal experience in Employment Litigation for Single Plaintiff (FEHA)
- Strong knowledge of employment law and state and federal filing process
- Working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure
- Familiarity with DFEH and EEOC claims process
- Experience drafting Meet and Confer responses
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of e-Filing and California rules
- Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and follow-up skills
- Type at least 40 wpm
- Experience in Federal procedure is a plus
