Summary
Zimmer Biomet is a global medical technology company focused on improving patient mobility through innovative products and technologies. The Service Technician repairs and troubleshoots medical electro-mechanical products and equipment, diagnoses malfunctions, performs tests, and replaces faulty materials. The role also involves documenting repairs, maintaining device history files, providing customer technical support, and training technicians.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility to repair and troubleshoot medical electro-mechanical products and equipment. Will at times be required to deal directly with products customers
- Diagnose malfunctions, perform tests, and follow technical manuals to ensure proper functioning of equipment
- Troubleshoot and replace faulty materials
- Use hand tools and testing equipment to repair manufacturing machines and Medical Devices
- Understanding computer programs and learning the use of software used to document customer repairs. Ability to learn to maintain accurate device history files in approved systems
- Communicate the repair performed in customer letters and provide basic technical support with customers on the phone
Skills
- Understand responsibility to the medical profession and follow GMP's and FDA laws and regulations
- Must be detail oriented, able to read, understand and follow detailed procedures
- Must have proven ability to meet workmanship standards relative to soldering techniques, use of hand tools and test equipment
- Must be able to train technicians in the performance of repairs associated within the department
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret test data and recognize discrepancies
- Ability to document test results
- Must have component level troubleshooting skills
- Must be self-motivated and have strong prioritizing and time management skills
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Physical Demands: ability to move/lift/rearrange heavy items up to 50 lb; standing for extended period, crouching, kneeling etc
- HSD (or equivalent) and 2+ years of experience troubleshooting using basic electronic test equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
