Job description

Summary

Akumin is a provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services. The Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting supports monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the accounting month-end close process by preparing financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting reports.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, management discussion and analysis and investor reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting
  • Prepares and posts monthly standard and adjusting journal entries. Prepares journal entries to record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets
  • Review assigned general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness, investigate questionable transactions, form reasonable conclusions, make recommendations to Accounting Management and prepare correcting journal entries as appropriate. Prepares monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Identifies, researches, and corrects account discrepancies
  • Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting
  • Assists in the annual financial audits

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 – 3 years of related experience and/or training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform analyses using Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other Excel capabilities
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 – 3 years of related experience and/or training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform analyses using Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other Excel capabilities
