Job description

Summary

AuthZed creates SpiceDB and authorization infrastructure that helps companies manage access control at enterprise scale. The Solutions Engineer will help qualify and close customer opportunities by providing technical expertise through evaluations, presentations, demonstrations, solution design, and proof-of-concept development.

Responsibilities

  • The technical win in deals by demonstrating that AuthZed meets the prospect's requirements
  • Daily collaboration with Account Executives in a pre-sales role to understand and document customer technical requirements, performance Service Level Objectives (SLOs), consistency requirements, and software architecture
  • Building live[permissions schema design](https://authzed.com/docs/spicedb/concepts/schema) sessions, tailored solutions leveraging our products, and designing Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to validate solutions with prospects
  • Leading virtual and in-person demos and deep-dive technical sessions
  • Identifying product gaps and communicating these to our product team to help shape the future of our offerings
  • Creation, improvement, and maintenance of dynamic customer demos, troubleshooting technical issues to ensure customer success

Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years
  • Visa: US citizen/visa only
  • Minimum 3 years in a solutions engineering role or similar technical position
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a relevant field
  • Directly related work experience will also be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Strong abilities to diagnose and solve complex technical issues, recommend solutions based on customer requirements, and effectively communicate both technical and business requirements to diverse audiences, including internal engineering and product teams
  • Proven track record of conducting training sessions, demos, and presentations to stakeholders of various technical levels
  • Comfortable with ambiguous and changing requirements, with a rapid ability to learn new technical concepts
  • Typically 3 to 4 days per month, mostly domestic travel to customer sites or internal team offsites
  • Preferably in a customer-facing capacity
  • Experience working with and contributing to open-source software projects
  • Experience with CRM systems
