Summary
Bechtel is an engineering and construction company supporting complex infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and technology projects. The University Hire Mechanical Engineer will participate in designing, developing, and evaluating mechanical components and processes while collaborating with other engineering disciplines. The role also supports equipment selection, system calculations, facility design requirements, safety bases, and technical diagram preparation.
Responsibilities
- Selecting and specifying equipment
- Preparing flow or detailed system piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Performing system and equipment sizing calculations
- Establishing facility design requirements and develop the system safety basis
- Reviewing supplier designs
- Preparing ventilation and instrumentation diagrams
- Performing corrosion and erosion evaluations for systems and equipment
Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months
- Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
- Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
- Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months
- Prior co-op or internship experience
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
