Summary

The EHR Application Analyst II supports the design, development, configuration, implementation, continuous improvement, and support of electronic health record applications. The role collaborates with IT teams, customers, and vendors, manages application content and projects, provides support, and mentors junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Defines, documents, builds and maintains EHR application content. (essential)
- Creates functional specification documents to create content within the EHR application and is primarily responsible for validating this content with the business owner. (essential)
- Completes assigned projects and meets deadlines with moderate supervision from Team Leader and/or manager and begins to exhibit strong project management skills. (essential)
- Escalates any issues that may adversely impact deliverables. (essential)
- Achieves and maintains required certifications (if applicable) of respective EHR application and stay current with new application functionality and enhancements. (essential)
- Acts as a liaison between IT, customers and/or vendors. Participates in meetings with all operational areas using the software application. (essential)
- Prepares and maintains documentation, including analysis, design, programming, standard procedures and user guides. (essential)
- Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department and/or customer. (essential)
- Provides on call / after hours support as required. (essential)
- Mentors junior colleagues in the development of application knowledge. (essential)
Skills
- High School diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years related work experience required in Direct experience in Electronic Health Record implementation and support. In lieu of direct experience, min. 2-5 years of operational experience utilizing the applicable Electronic Health Records' applications
- Ability to analyze large data sets effectively and efficiently
- Vendor required certification in good standing (or proficiency if vendor accepts) for applications/modules employee is assigned to support
- Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
- Ability to make decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices requiring some interpretation. May make recommendations for solving problems of moderate complexity and importance
- Ability to address problems that are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation using direct observation, knowledge and skills based on general precedents
- Ability to follow precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines. Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers
- Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers
- Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations
- Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Bachelor's degree preferred
