Summary
ResMed exists to inspire and empower people to live healthier lives with connected care. The Provider Development Specialist supports provider activation, growth, retention, and lost-account recovery by following up with healthcare providers, facilitating first orders, increasing utilization, and strengthening provider relationships. The role partners with Territory Managers to drive adoption of sleep and respiratory care services.
Responsibilities
- Contact provider offices within 24 hours following a lunch, breakfast, or educational event conducted by the Territory Manager
- Introduce themselves as a dedicated growth resource and answer high-level questions regarding our solutions and services
- Guide providers and office staff through the process of submitting their first order
- Remove barriers to adoption and ensure providers feel confident in utilizing our services
- Follow up after 1st order has been placed and completed to check how the process went and try to secure 2nd order
- Conduct monthly outreach to active ordering providers to:
- Strengthen relationships
- Understand utilization trends and opportunities
- Identify additional providers or locations that may benefit from our services
- Increase ordering frequency and overall account growth
- Contact inactive or lost ordering providers to:
- Understand reasons for disengagement
- Identify service gaps or barriers to ordering
- Gather market intelligence and competitive insights
- Develop strategies to re-engage and reactivate accounts
- Collaborate closely with Territory Managers to:
- + Share provider feedback and market intelligence
- + Identify opportunities for additional education and support
- + Develop account-specific growth strategies
- + Ensure a seamless transition from initial engagement to ongoing utilization
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of experience in customer experience or sales support within home medical equipment, respiratory, or sleep diagnostic environments
- Proven ability to build relationships with healthcare professionals and office staff
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
- Skilled at working across multiple systems and platforms with speed and accuracy
- Resourcefulness, accountability, and initiative to handle challenges and follow through
- Familiarity with DME operations, healthcare workflows, or similar is preferred but not mandatory

Qualifications
