Summary
Centric Software is a global provider of AI-enabled product-concept-to-commercialization solutions for retailers, brands, and manufacturers. The Business Development Representative will generate and qualify new business opportunities across North America, build sales pipelines, conduct initial discovery conversations, and partner with sales, marketing, and internal stakeholders to advance qualified opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities within the assigned territory through outbound prospecting, targeted outreach, and lead follow-up
- Identify and qualify prospective customers aligned with Centric’s value proposition and target market
- Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand business needs, challenges, decision-making processes, and potential fit
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and early-stage opportunities
- Partner closely with Regional Sales Executives and internal stakeholders to transition qualified opportunities for further development
- Research target accounts, industries, and contacts to support effective outreach and territory planning
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospecting activity, lead status, and opportunity progression in CRM systems
- Develop strong relationships with prospective customers and act as an early point of contact for Centric
- Support the preparation of outreach campaigns, account lists, and market development initiatives
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to follow up on inbound leads, events, campaigns, and other demand generation activities
- Represent Centric professionally in initial prospect interactions, industry events, trade shows, and conferences when required
- Consistently achieve or exceed assigned activity, pipeline generation, and qualification targets
Skills
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales development, lead generation, or inside sales within a SaaS or enterprise software environment
- Experience prospecting into new accounts and generating qualified sales opportunities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage prospects professionally and confidently
- Ability to understand customer challenges and qualify business needs effectively
- Experience using CRM systems and sales engagement tools to manage outreach and pipeline activity
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple prospects and follow-ups simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-evolving technology environment
- Self-driven, proactive, and results oriented
- Familiarity with apparel, retail, consumer goods, PLM, or enterprise software is an advantage
