Job description

Summary

The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. is a global health organization working with governments and the private sector to strengthen health systems and improve access to essential health commodities in low- and middle-income countries. The Associate will conduct rigorous market analyses and develop market access strategies for maternal health commodities and AI-supported diagnostics, supporting supplier, government, donor, and partner investment and adoption decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Landscaping and analysing suppliers of priority commodities for LMICs — including cultivating relationships with new and existing suppliers and distributors, conducting due diligence, and analysing market share, pricing, timelines for product development and regulatory approvals, manufacturing capacity, and access strategies — to identify opportunities to enhance affordability, availability, and sustainability of essential commodities in LMICs
  • Developing demand forecasts and uptake models for new and existing commodities to inform access pricing strategies and supplier negotiations
  • Executing costing and impact analysis for new models of financing, procurement, and distribution, including all-inclusive pricing, equipment leasing, pooled procurement, and tender optimization
  • Analysing country introduction and scale-up requirements, including cost, budget impact, and financing options, to support government adoption decisions and country readiness planning
  • Preparing presentations, reports, investment cases, and other analyses to inform global policy and increase the evidence base for interventions; presenting findings of analyses to internal and external audiences
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders — including CHAI country, program, and cross-cutting teams — as well as external partners — including donors, governments, suppliers, and global partners — to support the design and execution of supply- and demand-side interventions
  • Developing market analytic frameworks, tools, and templates and serving as a market analytics resource across MST projects
  • Supporting business development efforts by contributing to proposal writing and donor engagement
  • Maintaining effective relationships with senior-level stakeholders across CHAI and partner organizations
  • Executing other responsibilities as needed by the team

Skills

  • Preference is to be based in a CHAI program country, subject to MST and country team leadership approval; US-based candidates will also be considered
  • The individual must be comfortable synthesizing large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data into thoughtful recommendations
  • They must also be able to function independently, balance multiple priorities simultaneously, and work effectively across a range of stakeholders in a multicultural environment
  • This role will require up to 25% travel
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment (e.g., management consulting, industry, global health, government, or multilateral organizations)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative modelling skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare compelling presentations and written reports and present effectively to both internal and external stakeholders, including donors and more senior-level individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and work in a fast-paced, multicultural, remote environment
  • Ability to drive forward assigned workstreams effectively (e.g., through thoughtful work planning, priority setting, stakeholder engagement, etc.)
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including more senior-level individuals
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
  • English language fluency, both written and verbal
  • Experience in AI, global health, and/or maternal and newborn health
  • Knowledge of market dynamics in low- and middle-income countries
  • Familiarity with innovative financing mechanisms and public-private partnerships
  • Experience working remotely with decentralized teams
  • Additional language skills
