Summary
Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, develops diagnostic solutions for cancer care and digital pathology. The Field Service Engineer II provides advanced remote and on-site support for digital pathology equipment, including repairs, installations, preventive maintenance, and escalation support. The role also supports technical communications, quality reporting, trend identification, and collaboration with product management and other business units.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced remote and on-site escalation support of Digital Pathology Equipment to the North American Selling Unit, with the objectives of minimizing customer downtime and generating revenue opportunities, communicate trends and correct parts issues
- Provide proactive technical support through the dissemination of technical memos, bulletins, and related information, as well as recurring Service Excellence calls including trends, upcoming changes, and the sharing of best practices
- Work collaboratively with product management and other relevant Business Unit departments to review and maintain instrument quality reporting. Proactively identify declining quality trends and develop potential countermeasures
Skills
- Associate's degree plus 3+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation OR equivalent military experience (working/worked on any mechanical, technical, laboratory, pneumatic or any related instruments.)
- Ability to travel - 90% travel, overnight within and outside of territory
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 40 lbs
- Bachelor's Degree and IT networking preferred
- Diagnosis and repair of medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments to satisfy customer relationships
- Field Service Engineering experience and/or Networking/IT system experience
- Professional with strong technical acumen – analytical with the ability to understand complex system operation and troubleshooting
