Datalign is a Cambridge fintech using data and AI to tackle a problem we think is worth solving: helping more Americans get financial advice they can trust. We’re looking for a Marketing & Communications Intern to help us tell that story — through podcasts, video, social media, PR, content, and new ideas we haven’t thought of yet.
You’ll work closely with our marketing and communications team and get a real look at how marketing works at a growing company. You might edit an episode of our Perfectly Aligned podcast, turn a conversation with a financial advisor into social clips, help us respond to something happening in the news, research what people are asking about their money, or dig into Google Analytics to figure out why a piece of content took off. You’ll learn marketing strategy, financial services, AI, and content production by working on all four.
What you’ll work on
The tools
You don’t need to arrive as an expert in everything we use. We do want someone who likes learning new tools and is comfortable experimenting with technology. Our current toolkit includes:
Experience with some of these is a plus. Curiosity and the ability to figure things out count for a lot.
About you
You have a bachelor’s degree; current graduate students are especially encouraged to apply. You write well, have a good eye and ear for content, and understand why something is interesting enough to read, watch, or share.
Some experience shooting or editing video and audio would be useful. So would experience running social accounts, writing for an audience, using analytics, or experimenting with AI tools. You’re interested in technology, finance, media, marketing, AI, or some combination of them, and you want to understand these subjects beyond the headlines.
A little more about Datalign
More than 100,000 Americans have used Datalign, and more than 13,000 registered financial advisors participate in our network. We started by improving how people find financial advisors. Today we’re building technology that helps financial firms find and understand prospective clients, grow their businesses, and give people a better experience with financial advice.
We work together three days a week in Cambridge, surrounded by MIT, startups, good food, and an unusually high concentration of people trying interesting things. We’re a small team, which means you’ll work with the people setting the strategy as well as the people making the work.
If you like writing, making things, trying new tools, figuring out why something worked, and getting better at all of the above, we’d like to meet you.
