Little Tokyo Farmers’ Market (LTFM) Event Coordination InternshipSummaryThe Little Tokyo Farmers’ Market is a vibrant new Saturday tradition in the heart of LittleTokyo. Presented in partnership by JACCC and Food Access LA, this weekly market bringstogether fresh, affordable produce, rich cultural experiences, and meaningful communityconnection. Designed to support low-income residents, Japanese American farmers, andthe broader Little Tokyo community, the market features culturally relevant, locally grownfruits and vegetables, accepts SNAP/EBT, and offers wellness resources, including nutritioneducation, composting tips & healthy recipes.The LTFM Event Coordination Intern is responsible for supporting the Little TokyoFarmers’ Market Manager and Northeast LA Regional Manager with event coordinating,with a focus on stage programming at the JACCC plaza. This position will require in personsupport every week or every other week on Saturdays between 9-2. This position will be 5-10 hours/ week.This is an ongoing internship opportunity starting September through the rest of the schoolyear and we encourage all students to apply. We are looking for a 3-6 month commitmentwith opportunity to extend the internship.Project-based ResponsibilitiesCoordination/Strategy Tasks:• Reach out to and book performers to ensure weekly or biweekly programming onstage• Coordinate with performers, handling logistics such as audio/electrical needs andparking• Bring in culturally relevant talent• Coordinate with JACCC for market closures and other overlapping eventsDesired skills & qualifications• Experience working with artists and performers;• Reliable, self-driven, and able to follow clear directives with minimal supervision;• Experience working with underserved, low-income communities with awarenessand integrity.

Timeline

Internships are based on student’s availability and school schedule. Our interns generally serve between 9-12 hours per week. While these time frames work best for most students, all scheduling, including start/end dates and hours per week, are flexible and negotiated between the candidate and the supervisor during the interview stage of the selection process. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for interns who are reliable, flexible, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and project management skills are also valued.

During the interview process, we’ll consider your educational goals, interests, and previous experience to determine how the internship can best support your learning and professional development.
