Summary

The Staff Accountant supports core accounting activities for assigned US Oncology Network practices, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, account analyses, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare assigned journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and investigate routine reconciling items for resolution
- Assist with income statement reviews by performing expense analyses and researching variances
- Support accounting activities related to prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, intercompany transactions, and other assigned accounts
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions, controls, and Information Used in Controls (IUC)
- Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and responding to routine inquiries
- Utilize Excel and accounting systems to analyze data, prepare reports, and complete recurring accounting activities
- Partner with Practice Controllers, Senior Accountants, and other internal stakeholders to support financial reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency in accounting processes and communicate recommendations to management
- Manage multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines and quality expectations
Skills
- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Typically requires 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Basic understanding of US GAAP and accounting close processes
- Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement relationships
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF statements)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow established processes and procedures while learning more complex accounting activities
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems
- Interest in process improvement, automation, and continuous learning
- Experience in healthcare, physician practice, or multi-entity accounting environments
- CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
- Experience working with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, or SAP
- Exposure to financial reporting and audit support activities

- This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement based on recent updates to our in-office/work-from-home model.
- If located in DFW area, the selected candidate may be expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely.
