Summary
Network for Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation. The Donation Support Services Coordinator serves as part of a 24/7 response team, evaluating donor referrals, communicating with hospitals and donor families, coordinating donation logistics, and documenting critical information with compassion and precision.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating referrals for potential donors in real time
- Communicating with donor families through the donation process by compassionately discussing tissue and eye donation opportunities, obtaining consent, and ensuring accurate documentation
- Coordinating logistics for organ, tissue, and eye donations
- Collaborating with clinical teams to support time-sensitive decision-making
- Communicating with compassion, clarity, and precision
- Documenting and tracking critical information in fast-paced environments
Skills
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Calm, collected, and detail-oriented-even in fast-paced moments
- Comfort working overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- A passion for serving others - even during life's most difficult moments
- High School Diploma, or equivalent required
- Requires excellent typing and data entry skills, ability to multi-task, experience using multi-line phone systems, and intermediate medical terminology specific to critical care healthcare
- Some medical knowledge or background in healthcare, EMS, or a related field (preferred)
- Associates degree, medical-related certification, or some post-secondary education strongly preferred
- Experience working in a call center environment, dispatch such as EMS, social work, nursing, or medical assistant roles are highly desirable
- Medical Assistant, LPN, or similar preferred
