Summary
Petco is a pet-focused retailer and services company serving pets and pet parents across its stores, hospitals, clinics, and distribution centers. The Manager of Media Planning & Strategy builds and integrates omnichannel media campaigns, translating business objectives and data insights into strategic plans. The role manages media buying, campaign measurement, cross-functional activation, optimization, and performance reporting.
Responsibilities
- Plan strategic media placements across multiple channels (digital, traditional, and emerging) to drive business growth and maximize campaign value
- Develop comprehensive media plans, manage media buying processes, and define targeting, flighting, and budget allocation strategies
- Partner with data analytics teams to measure campaign impact, extract actionable insights, and craft comprehensive post-campaign reporting for key stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and creative teams to gather necessary assets and ensure smooth campaign activation
- Provide proactive tracking, in-flight optimization, and ongoing performance updates to internal teams and external partners
Skills
- 4-6 years of experience in media planning, advertising, or marketing
- Experience utilizing campaign performance data, audience insights, and market trends to formulate strategic media recommendations
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
- Strong understanding of media math, campaign analytics, and cross-channel advertising formats
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint) and familiarity with media planning tools and ad-serving technologies
