Summary
Petco is a pet-focused retailer committed to improving the lives of pets and people. The Specialist, National Merch Brands coordinates national brand campaigns, routes creative assets, supports digital shelf and omnichannel promotions, and analyzes campaign and competitor performance.
Responsibilities
- Asset Collection & Onboarding: Partner with national brand vendors to gather all necessary product imagery, brand logos, copy blocks, and regulatory guidelines required for integrated campaigns
- Cross-Functional Asset Routing: Coordinate the review and approval of vendor-focused creative assets with internal copywriters, designers, and legal teams, as well as the external brand partners
- Milestone Tracking: Maintain the master tracking calendar for all national brand activations, ensuring that deadlines for digital banners, email placements, social posts, and in-store signage are consistently met
- PDP Optimization: Work with digital merchandising and search teams to ensure national brand products feature optimal marketing copy, rich media, and brand storytelling on our website and mobile app
- Promotional Execution Support: Coordinate with internal promotional and pricing teams to verify that vendor-funded offers and sales events are correctly reflected across digital and physical touchpoints
- Campaign Post-Mortems: Gather performance data (clicks, impressions, conversions, in-store sales lift) from digital analytics and retail media teams to help build post-campaign recap reports for key vendors
- Competitor Audits: Regularly audit competitor retailers and digital channels to identify trends in national brand positioning, promotional strategies, and co-op executions
Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in marketing coordination, retail merchandising, agency account coordination, or brand support
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple overlapping project timelines without sacrificing quality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset suited for interfacing with corporate retail leaders and external brand managers alike
- Exceptional attention to detail, specifically regarding proofreading, brand guideline adherence, and asset tracking
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Experience working directly with external partners or vendors is highly preferred
