Summary
QIAGEN is a science and healthcare company focused on making improvements in life possible through biological discovery and diagnostic innovation. The Field Applications Specialist will support QIAGEN’s QIAstat-Dx instrument and chemistries through installations, customer training, evaluations, troubleshooting, demonstrations, and pre- and post-sale technical support across the Texas territory.
Responsibilities
- Support will include instrument installations, customer training, evaluation monitoring, routine customer follow up, on-site troubleshooting, product demonstrations, and other pre- and post-sale technical support in the assigned territory
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or equivalent
- 2-5 years of clinical lab experience, and/or 2-5 years within a field-based customer support function
- Deep knowledge of wet lab molecular biology methods/techniques in a clinical lab setting
- A customer-facing personality, including the ability to build positive relationships and engage in scientific discussions with customers
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve customers' technical problems by phone, email, webinar, and in-person
- Ability to integrate both internal and field-based resources to find creative solutions to customer requests. Organized and able to work independently as well as on a team
- Ability to travel 70% with anticipated overnights of 40%
- Territory: Texas (must be based near a major airport)
- Master's degree in molecular biology or a related field desirable
- Some familiarity with NGS applications would be helpful
- Experience with CRM software (particularly Salesforce.com) highly desirable
- Some project management experience is highly desirable
