Summary
Richelieu is a leading North American distributor, importer, and manufacturer of specialty hardware and complementary products serving customers in the cabinet, furniture, woodworking, and related industries. The Outside Sales Representative will grow the local business region by managing customer relationships and day-to-day sales activities, conducting consultative sales discussions, and advising customers in the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the overall relationship and management of day-to-day sales activities towards cabinet and furniture manufacturers, and residential and commercial woodworkers in his/her territory
- You will engage in structured consultative sales discussions, both in person and virtually, ultimately serving as a business advisor towards your customers
Skills
- Candidate must live inside the sales territory
- Experience in sales, optimally outside sales within the building materials or construction industries
- Eager to learn, with a passion for providing solutions to customers and a drive to achieve successful sales growth
- Highly motivated, able to self-direct and manage your own time and responsibilities, organize and plan
- Able to learn and proficiently use our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) program to track daily activity, plan and optimize sales calls, and follow up with customers' requests or needs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; must be able to effectively use Excel, Word, Outlook for daily responsibilities and tasks
- As this position requires regular automobile travel, you must have your own independent, reliable transportation
- This position requires you to work "in the field," making in-person visits to customers three to four days per week
- Knowledge or experience within these areas is preferred: building materials, bathroom or kitchen cabinetry, closets, millwork, etc
- Position may require occasional lifting/moving up to 50 lbs
