Summary
SurTec, a Freudenberg Group company, develops and produces chemical specialties for surface treatment. The Technical Sales Representative will drive sales and provide technical service for surface finishing products and process chemicals across the North Midwest territory while supporting product strategy, customer acquisition, pricing, and distributor support.
Responsibilities
- Direct sales and technical service of surface finishing treatment industry products and process chemicals throughout the North Mid-West United States, including the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois Iowa, and Indiana
- Supporting strategy on core product lines and pricing to meet or exceed projected sales volumes and maintain profitability levels
- Growing market share of each product line within the territory at existing accounts and through acquisition of new business from competitors
- Identifying critical path for evaluation and approval of products at the customer by working with management and support areas to secure business opportunities, optimize profitability, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Managing product marketing, sales introduction, and price negotiation with customer base
- Provide, under direct supervision, technical support to Distributors in the market area
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of technical sales experience metal pre-treatment or electroplating industries
- Knowledge on chemistry of surface finishing products and processes
- Ability to travel extensively (on average 80%)
- Candidate must live within territory boundaries to support our customer base effectively
- Illinois or Wisconsin preferred
