Job description

Summary

ZTR designs and develops products that create positive environmental impacts within the locomotive industry. The Junior Field Service Engineer – Electrical will provide technical support by programming, configuring, and troubleshooting PLC-based solutions, while traveling to customer sites for equipment commissioning, installation, training, and related project support.

Responsibilities

  • Program, configure and troubleshoot ZTR locomotive operation, products, and solutions
  • Provide excellent Customer Service and Support in both field and telephone support
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning & installation of ZTR equipment
  • Provide on-site technical training and presentations to customers
  • Perform sales support and project management tasks as assigned

Skills

  • Mandatory Requirement: Two year or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering degree
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experienced with PLCs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work autonomously at customer sites and manage project scope & cost
  • Exceptional organizational and data entry skills required for related administrative tasks
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to customer sites for on-site commissioning and/or installation of ZTR equipment
  • Due to the nature of work, the successful candidate will be required to live in or close proximity to Detroit MI
