Summary
Bechtel Corporation delivers engineering, construction, and infrastructure projects across global markets. The University Hire Civil/Structural Engineer will participate in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil and structural components, assisting with drawings, schedules, models, calculations, studies, reports, and related project materials.
Responsibilities
- Permitting
- Foundation layout, underground utility, and stormwater drainage system design
- Railway alignment and roadway design
- Site preparation; finish grading and paving
- Ponds and reservoirs; Earthworks
- Analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures and/or steel structures
- Finite-element analysis for seismic, thermal, and blast events
- Analysis of supporting foundations for vibrating/rotating equipment and equipment isolation
- Foundation design and analysis
Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months
- Eligible for the University Hire Program (typically hired within 12 months of graduation)
- Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
- Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
- Master of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months
- Prior co-op or internship experience
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
