Job description

Summary

Cisco, through its Splunk business, provides security and observability solutions for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The Virtual Sales Account Executive will expand Splunk territories by prospecting, generating leads, selling software, managing customer relationships, forecasting opportunities, and achieving revenue goals.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up with inbound leads and provide status updates through the company CRM system
  • Conduct outbound prospecting and lead generation
  • Qualify leads and schedule product demos for customers
  • Display a real passion for running accounts by building and fostering client relationships through personalized contact, understanding of client's needs, and ability to communicate solution values of products and services
  • Accurately forecast opportunities based upon realistic assessments
  • Meet/exceed assigned revenue goals
  • Partner with field sales representatives in various geo/territories. Support attendance to all field marketing events to include, but not limited to Splunk Lives, our National Users Conference and all regional trade shows

Skills

  • At least one year of sales experience
  • Experience selling enterprise IT solutions (BI, data analytics, security software, risk management software or networking performance)
  • Previously worked in software company
  • Developed and cultivated new business and managed the entire sales cycle from lead generation to close
  • Proven track record of exceeding annual sales quotas
  • Technical experience using CRM system, Word, Excel, and SalesForce
  • Prioritized and completed multiple tasks by consistently meeting deadlines

  • Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, subject to availability and some business limitations.
  • 80 hours of sick time off provided on the hire date and each January 1st thereafter, with up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next.
  • Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members.
  • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer.
  • Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan.
  • Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
