Summary
Johnson & Johnson is a healthcare innovation company developing personalized treatments through its MedTech business. The Technical Operations Engineering Co-Op will support continuous improvement and business projects involving engineering processes, project management, process optimization, testing, documentation, data analysis, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supporting projects focused on improving process efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost reduction
- Assisting with project execution using project management and continuous improvement methodologies such as FPX, Lean, and Six Sigma
- Participating in testing, validation, and documentation activities related to products, processes, equipment, and raw materials
- Maintaining technical and operational documentation, including specifications, reports, and project records
- Analyzing data and preparing reports to communicate project progress and results
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions
- Assisting in the development of concepts, designs, and approaches for new products, processes, or testing methods
- Supporting compliance with company policies, environmental, safety, and occupational health requirements
- Communicating project updates, risks, opportunities, and business-related issues to leadership when appropriate
- Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned
Skills
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies at an accredited university is required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in **Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering field**
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and remain in good academic standing
- Fluent in both **English and Spanish**, with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including **Excel, PowerPoint, and Word**
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including overtime when required
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or ) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship
- Previous internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or relevant project experience is preferred
- Leadership experience through student organizations, extracurricular activities, or community involvement is a plus
- Experience with **Minitab, Visio, Power BI, or other analytical tools** is preferred
- Data analysis and reporting
