Summary

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a College Intern 1 for the Division of Wildlife Conservation located in Fairbanks. This role focuses on supporting the management and entry of wildlife harvest data while providing hands-on experience in wildlife conservation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Gain proficiency in WinfoNet, ADF&G’s Wildlife Information Network
  • Maintain high-quality standards for harvest data entry and management
  • Assist in coding hunt locations using Uniform Coding Unit (UCU) maps
  • Verify harvest reports through direct outreach to hunters
  • Support Wildlife Technicians with various assigned duties and projects

Skills

  • Currently accepted, enrolled, and attending an accredited college in an undergraduate degree program while maintaining an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester (eight credit hours per quarter)
  • Copy of college transcripts (unofficial are accepted)
  • Contact information for at least two (2) recent references, one work-related and one academic
  • A most recent performance evaluation, if available
  • Customer Service: Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement
  • Clerical: Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking shorthand, and using and completing forms
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
