Summary
The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Part-Time CID Intern for the City of Lewisville. This role involves performing project coordination for department projects, primarily assisting the police function through various administrative tasks and support.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the team
- Identify pertinent information from reports and video recordings
- Organize and support assigned project and manage tasks through updates, documentation, and edits
- Utilize critical thinking skills to contribute to and enhance assigned project plans
- Follow-through on project-related tasks and regularly report progress
- Continuously learning and support other departmental activities
- Attend related meetings and discussions
- Support staff with day-to-day administrative needs
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university in a Bachelor's or Master's academic program pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, or related field
- Work experience or coursework in criminal justice, or a related field required
- Must submit to and pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug test
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver's License Class “C” and good driving record as defined by City policy
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20 binocular for all hours of the day including day, evening and night
- Must pass a polygraph test and background investigation
- May be subject to a software skills test
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and/or other databases
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws
- Students who have had coursework in Criminal Justice, or related field
- Building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
- Working effectively with departmental representatives
- Accepting responsibility for his/her actions
- Utilizing in-house resources to meet departmental needs
- Analyzing data
- Using spreadsheets and personal computer including Microsoft Office, Google docs, e-mail, and the internet
- Communicating effectively, clearly, and concisely both orally and in writing
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating activities to accomplish work assignments
- Performing work accurately and thoroughly
- Following instructions, safety practices, and standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks
- Being punctual and attending work regularly
- Working effectively with people regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetics, veteran's status, or job type
- One (1) year of clerical/administrative experience preferred
