Summary
Planned Parenthood Federation of America is a nonprofit organization providing and advocating for sexual and reproductive health care, education, and related public policy initiatives. The Senior Specialist, Recruiter leads full-cycle recruitment for entry-level through manager-level and temporary positions, partnering with hiring managers to source, assess, and hire diverse talent while using recruitment analytics and ensuring legal compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manages end-to-end talent acquisition for assigned requisitions (entry-level to manager, including temp hires), encompassing job posting distribution, multi-channel proactive sourcing, resume screening, structured interviewing, offer generation, and onboarding handoff
- Conducts thorough phone screens and virtual interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications, competencies, and cultural addition to PPFA; coordinates panel interviews and prepares standardized selection collateral
- Executes recruitment workflows within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to reduce time-to-fill, optimize panel selection, and maintain operational efficiency across the hiring lifecycle
- Serves as a proficient system user for Lever ATS and SuccessFactors HRIS; maintains accurate recruitment analytics, candidate pipeline data, and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making
- Coordinates background checks, reference verifications, and onboarding logistics in partnership with TA Operations; ensures strict adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies
- Promotes PPFA as an employer of choice by leveraging internal/external advertising platforms and maintaining transparent, engaging communication throughout the candidate journey
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Partners closely with hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle; leads intake sessions to align on criteria, serves as a continuous liaison, provides pipeline updates, and guides data-driven selection decisions
- Researches and engages external networks, universities, community organizations, social media channels, employee referrals, and professional associations to proactively build diverse candidate pipelines
- Represents PPFA at career fairs, university sessions, industry conferences, and networking events to build organizational awareness and expand talent pools
- Fosters collaborative, trusting relationships with hiring managers, candidates, PCE Business Partners, and TA Operations team members to ensure seamless service delivery and high engagement
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or another relevant field required
- Minimum 3+ years of high volume recruitment experience required managing high-volume portfolios (10 - 40+ open requisitions concurrently) for professional, administrative, and specialized non-profit roles (e.g. advocacy, communications, electoral campaigns, organizing, public policy, etc.)
- Proficient user level capacity with HR databases (SuccessFactors), applicant tracking software (Lever) or other recruitment systems & candidate management systems required
- Advanced knowledge of full cycle recruitment strategies, proactive multi-channel sourcing, structured behavioral interviewing, and competitive talent market trends with a proven track record of success required
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or related software required
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, liaise effectively with hiring managers, and provide consultative talent recommendations
- Demonstrated track record of building creative sourcing channels to attract, engage, and recruit top-tier diverse talent across varied organizational disciplines
- Professional approach with an ability to build and maintain relationships required
- Excellent time-management skills and multitasking ability required
- Results oriented and data driven is required
- Travel: 0-10% domestic
- APHR, PHR, SHRM, SHRM-CP, AIRS CIR, CDR, TAS and other HR or recruitment related certificates are a plus
- Familiarity with labor laws, employment regulations, industry trends and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment preferred
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative is preferred
