Summary
Sage is a global academic publisher of books, journals, library resources, and related technologies. The Inside Sales Partner manages an established portfolio of institutional customers, driving subscription renewals, collection upgrades, archival content sales, and trusted customer relationships through a consultative sales approach.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with leading academic, research, healthcare, and government institutions
- Grow an established customer portfolio through consultative sales, renewals, collection upgrades, and backfile sales
- Serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers maximize the value of Sage and Mary Ann Liebert content
- Stay informed on trends impacting academic libraries, scholarly publishing, and research institutions
- Develop territory plans that prioritize high-impact sales opportunities and customer engagement activities
- Build credibility with customers through relationships, product expertise, responsiveness, and a consultative approach
Skills
- 3+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, customer success, or business development
- Proven ability to build relationships, uncover customer needs, and achieve sales goals through a consultative approach
- Experience selling subscription-based products, digital content, journals, databases, information services, or related solutions is highly valued
- Experience working with academic libraries, higher education, scholarly publishing, or research-focused organizations is a strong plus
- Proficiency using CRM systems to manage customer relationships, opportunities, and forecasting
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a large portfolio of customer accounts in a remote environment
- Familiarity with journal renewals, Open Access publishing, and academic library purchasing is preferred
Qualifications
Must Haves
