Summary
UnitedHealthcare provides internship opportunities focused on helping improve the health care system through hands-on experience and collaboration with experienced professionals. The Sales Representative Intern will support an insurance sales call center by learning systems, processes, compliance expectations, products, and sales techniques while handling customer calls, completing applications, updating CRM records, and participating in team and development activities.
Responsibilities
- Obtain Resident Life and Health Insurance License (pass state exam) within the first 30 days of employment
- Learn about the various roles of an [inbound] insurance call center, including systems, processes, compliance expectations, product options, and sales techniques
- Apply your learning by: receiving and handling inbound calls from customers interested in purchasing insurance products accurately transferring qualified calls to the appropriate team answering transferred calls and complete customer applications updating the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database with customer information collaborating with others as part of a team or work independently to solve routine or complex problems
- Participate in researching, preparing, and delivery of a final executive presentation
- Mentoring, networking, and various enterprise wide opportunities
Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position
- Pursuing a degree in Business, Management, Operations, Sales/Marketing, or a related business field
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, which includes strong keyboard and navigation skills and learning new computer programs
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, including the ability to navigate a computer while speaking on the telephone
