Summary
Motorola Solutions builds and connects technologies that help protect people, property, and places and support safer communities. The Presales Systems Engineer designs and oversees technical solutions for customer projects, including equipment lists, system architecture, coverage analysis, and power and networking calculations, while supporting proposal reviews and contract negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Equipment list generation
- Description of system design, including diagrams
- Understanding customer requirements
- Radio Coverage design and analysis
- Calculation of power and networking requirements
- Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree OR 1+ years of experience with Systems Engineering or Wireless Communications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Willingness to think out of the box and challenge the status quo
- Experience with Google Suite Platform (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
- General knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G)
- General understanding of IP networking architecture, protocols and security
- General knowledge of RF coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets
- Experience with Google Scripts
Qualifications
Must Haves
