The Outside Sales Representative will support sales growth across the South Texas territory by managing integrator and distributor accounts, developing new business opportunities, and promoting paging, intercom, and emergency communication solutions. The role works with the Regional Sales Manager and travels extensively throughout the Texas territory.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with an assigned portfolio of integrator and distributor accounts within the territory, serving as their primary Valcom point of contact
  • Prospect, qualify, and develop new integrator, contractor, and end-user opportunities; hand off or co-manage larger opportunities with the Regional Sales Manager
  • Conduct product demonstrations, lunch-and-learns, and counter days at integrator and distributor locations
  • Support the Regional Sales Manager on strategic and large-project pursuits, including site walks, bid follow-up, and quote coordination with inside teams
  • Follow up on marketing leads, quotations, and open orders; maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and forecast records in the CRM
  • Track construction bid activity and specifications in the territory; work with consultants and engineers to get Valcom specified on K-12, healthcare, and commercial projects
  • Coordinate with Sales Engineering to deliver technical support and engineered-solution assistance to channel partners
  • Represent Valcom at regional trade shows, association events (e.g., education and healthcare facility associations), and partner events
  • Monitor and report competitive activity, pricing pressure, and market trends within the territory
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team goals and project milestones

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 1–3 years of B2B sales, inside sales, sales support, or customer-facing technical experience
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the territory
  • Residence within, or willingness to relocate to, the South Texas territory
  • Consultative selling and prospecting skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and match them to product solutions
  • Strong presentation and demonstration skills for audiences ranging from installing technicians to district administrators and facility directors
  • Technical aptitude to learn and explain voice, paging, and emergency communication products, including basic IP networking concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills across integrator, distributor, and end-user contacts
  • Strong organization and time management, with the ability to plan territory travel and manage priorities with limited supervision
  • Self-motivated and coachable, with the persistence to succeed in a long-cycle, spec-driven sales environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Regional Sales Manager, supporting shared account strategies, communicating territory activity openly, and applying coaching and direction to grow in the role
  • Maintain regular, structured communication with the Regional Sales Manager, including weekly activity reviews, joint account planning, and transparent reporting on pipeline, wins, and losses
  • This is a full-time position, working remotely and traveling up to 75% within Texas territory
  • The expected schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, but an occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate project schedules
  • Experience in low-voltage, AV, security, life safety, telecommunications, or a related technology industry
  • Familiarity with two-step distribution and integrator/dealer channel models
  • Exposure to the construction bid/spec process (Division 27/28)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus in this territory
