Summary

Standard Process Inc. is a whole food nutrient solutions company focused on changing lives through its products and employees. The Inside Sales Representative – Veterinary will drive sales in an assigned territory, develop and convert leads, support existing customers, process orders, and build relationships with veterinary professionals through phone and email. The role also maintains CRM records, collaborates across departments, uses analytics to support growth, and represents the company at trade shows and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed assigned sales revenue and account contact goals for the territory
  • Develop professional sales relationships with licensed veterinarians, practice managers and vet techs via phone and email
  • Manage large volume of inbound and outbound calls and emails daily to support customers
  • Process customer orders via phone/email
  • Utilize professional communication skills with external customers and internal departments
  • Utilize product knowledge and sales skills to identify and meet customer needs
  • Keep up with Standard Process product and service information and updates
  • Explain and demonstrate features of products and services
  • Convert pre-qualified leads and generate new business with existing customers
  • Promote excellence by providing superior service to customers
  • Handle customer inquiries (product questions, costs, shipping/tracking, etc.) as they occur
  • Assist field sales organization on sales related activities as needed
  • Maintain a database of customers and leads; log and record all communication and opportunities in CRM tool
  • Organize and prioritize customer follow up calls
  • Learn industry, product, market segments, and appropriate tools to grow customers
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Analytics, Marketing, and Finance as needed to advance the sales process
  • Utilize analytics and market intelligence to make confident and strategic decisions to drive business growth
  • Travel to regional or national tradeshows and conferences to represent Standard Process in the exhibitor booth

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales or Marketing preferred, or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Veterinary technician license a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, or customer support
  • 5+ years of experience working in a veterinary clinic, or in the animal health market for either a manufacturer or distributor
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Results driven individual with strong desire to succeed, high energy, self-starter
  • Strong commitment to customer service and product descriptive skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Adaptable, professional, courteous, and motivated
  • Knowledge of commonly used terms in the animal health and pet industries
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast and changing environment
  • Must work well individually and as a member of a team
